Prerequisite: There is nothing I love more than being pleasantly surprised by anime, and Spice and Wolf delivers on all fronts, even managing to excel in some areas. Spice and Wolf certainly has captured my heart, and with a collection of memorable characters, charming and witty dialogue, and beautifully detailed scenarios, Spice and Wolf is a definite step ahead of most anime and deserves to go down in the books as a classic, if not a genre breaking show…CONT.

Top 100 Anime OP’s, ED’s, and Insert Songs, A pointless project

I thought we could try something new, so if this idea doesn’t seem like a hit, don’t kill me, I was just trying.

I have seen quite a few lists on the internet, most notably 2chan’s list of 100 greatest anime openings and endings, but it includes quite a few old school hits which I’m completely unfamiliar with. So being the pretentious snob I am, I decided to compile a list of my own OP’s, ED’s, and insert songs that are composed of more recent anime.

I’m making this thread to ask the good members of the SOS Brigade, to help aide me in creating a list that reflects the opinions of the people of this forum. I have a few songs already added to the list, but feel free to argue the order, or even the placement of the song itself. Add songs, delete songs, move songs, feel free until we all come to a decision. You will see this list is heavily biased, and extremely poorly made, so feel free to manipulate it until we have come to a consensus. I take into consideration both animation, as well as music, and overall production quality. Take note the lack of Gundam, and/or other various mecha anime. Since the mecha genre is not my forte, I’ve decided not to include it for fear of being completely disparaged. The three lists only have one OP, from the anime, meaning there won’t be two openings from the same show in one list. So I’m not sure if this thread will go anywhere, but it’s worth a try.I noticed that there is a thread already dedicated to the discussion of OP’s and ED’s, but I think this project warrants it’s own thread.

So allow me to put on the table some guidelines since I neglected to earlier.
-Provide a list of OP’s, ED’s and insert songs that you believe deserves placement on the list, and also provide a number corresponding to each of them. We will then discuss placement, and heavily discuss which songs deserve to be on the list, where, and why.
- There can only be one OP, ED, or insert song per anime. Meaning the final lists can not contain two different Bleach OP’s, just one of them, this will limit needless duplicates, and add more variety to the list. So remember to choose the BEST OP from each respective show.
-The Anime must have its original run spanning from 1990 to currently airing shows, and perhaps future shows as well.
-Try to explain why you believe a certain OP, ED, or insert songs deserves placement, it’ll save a lot of time later, when we have to discuss the final list.
-For now, animated movies won’t be included on the list, unless popular demand asks for it. Meaning no Totoro for those who were going to recommend that.
-A few factors to keep in mind. The Music obviously, the animation, the direction, the overall production quality, and anything else you want to take into consideration, just be sure to back it.

Another busy day at school seemed only longer because of the extra hour for the meeting. Jeez, if I knew how tiring organizing a club would have been, I would have reconsidered, nevertheless, things worked out fine. Positions have been determined, and a rough outline for our club has been drawn…sort of.

Positions are as follows:

Wow, that was an awfully long title. In any case, I recently downloaded Strike Witches, and against my better judgment, I decided to watch the first episode. After watching the first five minutes I had to turn it off. Not because it wasn’t GOOD, but because I was at the library, and sitting behind me were a group of elementary schools kids. Now what does this have to do with anything? How does that correlate to me deciding not watch the first episode? Well the first problem was the fact that the first ten seconds consisted of something like 7 pantsu shots. I kid you not, that’s the most fanservice I have seen in such a short period of time I think my brain exploded. As time went on, more pantsu shots…more pantsu shots…and oh look, more pantsu shots. Oh, I forgot to mention that all the girls in the show wear undies like they are pants. I lie to you not. After realizing that little children were about, I decided to stop there, and watch at a better time, preferably in a dark lit room whimpering in shame. Joking aside, where does this leave us?

Hello there ladies and gents, I have returned from the bowls of Little Tokyo to bring you even more anime goods. I took a lot more cash this time around, so, we bought more stuff. The sad part is of course, the shipment of Lucky Star goodies is coming out NEXT week. SIGH, I guess we’ll be making another round to L.A. soon. Not next week though, I burned a hole in my wallet as deep as the pacific ocean. So without further ado, I give you the loot from our second trip to “The Jungle”

A new blog! Aren’t you all ecstatic?
I’ve been recently in a doujin frenzy downloading upwards to 40+ gigs within a week. Some would say it’s unheathly, but frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn. So I decided why not keep a blog to monitor my daily otaku actions. Sounds like a blasty blast don’t it?

I have but one goal this year, and that is to visit Comiket 76. Since 75 will be in December, there isn’t a good chance I can make it, but August 09, you can hope to see me there. Speaking of Comiket, Comiket74 just wrapped up a few weeks ago, and I’ve been droning about the internet searching for Doujins and the like, and I’ll share the fruit of my spoils.

In any case, I have plans to visit Little Tokyo today with Andy and Taka. I’ll post some of my spoils when I get the chance. I’m planning on spending upwards to 150+ dollars there. So expect otaku goodies.

In any case, new blog, focuesed around anime. What a concept…^-^

Yes ladies and gentleman, with only one month away from the fabled fall anime season, it’s about that time for otaku to gather from every corner of the earth and to oogle at the lineup that only God himself could have dreamed of. I will argue that the past summer season was a huge let down, with very few titles that are even worth mentioning, it was without a doubt a huge disappointment, but alas, the FALL season is upon us, and it will take us to anime heaven and shower us with plushies of immeasurable moe.
