You will snuggle with me~
There are two things that have prevented me from purchasing a dakimakura in the past.
- The outrageous price.
- Very few dakimakura designs appeal to me.
With that said, a few weeks ago while watching the third episode of Higurashi Rei, I was doing some research and was made aware of a certain Rika dakimakura that would come bundled with the Limited Edition DVD of the third episode of Rei. At 104 dollars, the price was no laughing matter, but temptation got the best of me, and I decided to go ahead and purchase it. There were a few factors I used to justify this otherwise outrageous purchase. I reasoned with myself that dakimura cost upwards to 100 dollars to begin with, so the fact that this bundle comes with the actual Higurashi Rei DVD would only be a plus, after all, I wasn’t buying the DVD for the pillowcase. That would be absurd…= P
In any case, it ended up being a huge impulse buy that I soundly regretted later. Even so, I buckled down and accepted my sordid mistake and vowed never to buy otaku goods on a whim ever again; a bitter lie, coming from a man without a cent left in his pocket. In the end after I finally received the shipment, I ended up being quite happy with my purchase. Don’t get me wrong, snuggling with a Rika dakimakura is something I have only DREAMED of, but a poor college student needs to put his priorities straight. Rika, or rent, that’s one hell of a tough call. In any case, none of you actually care about the process in which I bought my dakimakura, so I’ll show off some pictures now since that’s all you folks probably want to see.

You say you want a bigger version of the chart? Sure! ->CLICK HERE! <-
Finals are done, school is out, and I finally get a much needed breather. The summer season is almost upon us, so now is a good time to look at this season’s line up, and hope for the best. Truthfully I haven’t been too into the last two season’s offerings. There were a few hits, but a lot of misses, but this summer seems to showcase a great deal of new shows, as well as some returning heavy weights, and promises to be one of the more hypefilled seasons of the year. With that said, let’s dive into it, and see what hidden gems we can expect in the months to come.

The first ending of Shugo Chara for you all to enjoy.
What EXACTLY makes Shugo Chara so great? Isn’t the demographic for elementary school girls? Well, that much is true, but it would be a shame if you sold the show out just cause of that. I’ll explain my own thoughts and opinions at the end of the week, in a final review. Till then, enjoy the useless music spam. I’ve been listeing to Shugo Chara music all day. Even a lobotomy couldn’t get it out of my head. I’ll be posting a Discography of all Buono’s works as well as the review at the end of the week. Maybe then these seemingly irrelevant and inane posts will have some meaning.

With 2009 in full swing, it’s time to refresh myself, and look back on 2008 with fond memories.
You’re doing a 2008 closing post at the end of January? Are you mad? My only explanation is that my biological clock is severely off, and with several things that have been taking up my plate for the past few months, it seems I’ve been left behind in the dust. Well, I’m STILL going to do MY year in review, so to those who object, I bite my thumb at thee. So Let’s get this show started, or more accurately, let’s end this show with a bang!
2008 in my opinion was a fabulous year, and gave way to some of the the most memorable anime of recent times. Although many would argue 2008 seemed like a severe drought for the anime industry, I think that is looking at things a bit too critically. Although there was a fair share of mediocre shows lining up our ‘to watch lists’, there were also shining examples of great art in motion. So let’s look back at 2008 now, before its just a distant memory, and think back on fonder times.

The verdict? It’s pretty damn entertaining.
Maybe it’s just me, but I have a feeling that I wasn’t the only one that was pleasantly surprised by this show. I haven’t read the manga, so I had no idea what to expect other than the brief synopsis. So I decided to give the pre-stream of the first episode a try, and found Maria Holic to be a solid comedy with that off-beat style only SHAFT can do. I encourage anyone with nothing to do during the winter season to dive into Mari Holic, and give it a chance, because as this show will teach us, there is always more to some things, than meets the eye. Ahem…

Excited? Not really, but this season still has some potential
With many shows from the fall season coming to an end, the winter season is all ready to go into full swing. But whether its because I’ve been getting busier these days, or maybe I’m just not as enthusiastic as before, I’m just not feeling the winter season this time around. Nothing truly jumps out at me, but all the same, I have a gut feeling some of the shows will be big hits. So here are some first impressions, and some quick thoughts on the upcoming winter season.

Huray! The goddess returns! Well technically she didn’t go anywhere… but it’s nice to know she’ll be back in tip-top form
All is well with the manga-ka of kannagi, and after surgery, she seems well, and will return to her work when she recovers fully. Great news, I wish the manga-ka a smooth recovery.

For those who are wondering, the artist is Capura Lin. One of my favorites~
This news is actually pretty old in hindsight, since they announced this nearly a year ago, but check out Sankaku Complex for more details anyway. Late news is still news to some. The name of the project is Musou Kakyou, and is to be distributed as DVD’s at the upcoming comiket for 2,800 yen featuring an OST and other various goodies. Just know that although the project is under the care of a doujin studio, there are some big name seiyuu’s that will be lending their talent for this historic event. The animation and production work will be done by, Maikaze Studios. Haven’t heard of em? Neither have I…^-^ Go on over to their homepage for more details. http://maikaze.com/
