In a previous entry I stated that Shikabane was a show with a very fickle and seemingly surface level plot that is meant only to entertain, not to make you think. I was wrong. The anime has gone from being a simple action oriented anime to relying heavily on bringing up moral and ethical issues. Not that i’m complaining, but it seems Shikabane is really trying to get out of the whole, this show exists to blow shit up, mind frame. But venturing into the land of moral dilenmas, is a harsh and difficult path that will be met with much criticsm. At this point, i’m not sure exactly WHERE the show is going, and since I haven’t read the manga I have no idea what to expect, but I guess the show will be delivering more than just, let’s kill zombies kind of entertainment from now. I’ll stick with it to see where it goes.

Shikabane Hime: Episode 1
Posted by sunggyu on October 12, 2008
What a badass title screen. That is seriously pretty fucking badass.
Every so often a show will come along and that will have a genuine charm and draw. However, it seems that the shows charm is only picked up by a select few individuals, while everyone else just passes it by. Shikabane Hime is one of these shows. Even before I saw the first episode, I remember telling myself, what a delightfully simple concept. A girl has to kill 108 corpses in order to be allowed to go to heaven.
